tailor-made works council training

focused on your works council

– Klik hier voor de Nederlandse versie van deze tekst –

Have you ever attended OR training where, afterwards, everyone went about their business as if the training had never taken place? All agreements were quickly forgotten, and nothing changed? That is why all CT² training sessions are tailor-made.

tailor-made Works Council solutions - CT2.nl

We offer various forms of tailor-made training, such as extensive training with pre-training and post-training guidance, with a guaranteed larger Return on Investment. We can also provide tailor-made training sessions without the pre-training and post-training options or the OR guide (Dutch)  (the Works Council trainer as a facilitator during the training session).

tailor-made training with pre-training and post-training support

Some issues during the pre-training and post-training phases are always the same. Everything is aimed at preventing agreements from being quickly forgotten and change not happening.

That is why every training session is structured, as is explained below:

  • pre-training phase
  • OR training
  • post-training phase: evaluation day Works Council/training evaluation

Note: the scope and depth of the pre-training and post-training phases always depend on the length and content of the training.

intake interview ↓

You want training that matches your Works Council, your organisation and your situation. Click here to make an appointment to discuss your options.

free of charge

During a meeting with the Works Council (free of charge), we determine and explore the issues the Works Council is facing and the potential improvements that could be achieved. Together, we determine what fits with your Works Council and what you need. After consultation, the trainer will be happy to write a proposal for one or multiple-day training.

different forms of support

Whether you are looking for information about the Works Councils Act or want to learn how to handle a reorganisation or problems within the Works Council, CT² is happy to provide expert assistance. Apart from the tailor-made OR training sessions, CT² also offers OR coaching (Dutch).

Our trainers have many years of experience and will gladly assist you.

pre-training phase: e-based questionnaire + meeting with the Bestuurder ↓
The Works Council pre-training phase starts with an intake interview with the committee or the entire Works Council.

meeting with the Bestuurder

We also recommend that the trainer, in consultation with the Works Council, meets with the Works Council’s Bestuurder. This gives the trainer a clear picture of the organisation and employee participation in the organisation.

e-based questionnaire

The next step is the creation of a questionnaire for each Works Council. This is the basis of the training needs assessment. The e-based questionnaire maps out the different variables of the group, as well as its (learning) needs. A pre-training questionnaire usually consists of:

  • an analysis of the organisation
  • an analysis of the Works Council
  • a learning style analysis
  • relevant background for the training objective(s)

The questionnaire not only determines the objectives; the questions focus on the background, learning goals and the reasons for participating in the training.

Note: the scope and depth of the pre-training and post-training phases always depends on the duration of the training.

OR training ↓
The OR training, based on the input from the extensive pre-training phase, will fit your Works Council like a glove. The trainer is perfectly prepared to get started with the group right away. The trainer is highly experienced and can handle any questions and interventions that might occur during the training.

during the training

Instruction, exercises, presentations and knowledge sharing are all important elements of the training. The members of the Works Council are expected to participate actively, ensuring that any conclusions and agreements are effective, and the participants learns as much as they can.

subjects

The following subjects are discussed frequently: internal performance of the Works Council, skills, substantive subjects, legal topics, knowledge topics, relationships/environment, work method/the position of the Works Council and dealing with the Bestuurder.

workbook

At the start of the training, each participant receives a personal workbook with information about the training and training materials. Every workbook includes the (personal) results of the pre-training phase.

The workbook is used as a work folder during the training and as a reference book afterwards. In case of multiple-day training, the first (and second) day consists of a morning, afternoon and evening session (until approximately 19.30h). The last day consists of a morning and afternoon session.

Every Works Council training ends with a ‘Names & Numbers’ session: agreement is reached on all the decisions made during the training: when should it be completed and who should be handling that.

post-training phase: evaluation day Works Council/training evaluation ↓
Several weeks (up to two to three months) after the training, the trainer will supervise an evaluation day, to test the learning points in everyday practice.

content evaluation day

During this half-day session, the results of the training are discussed and compared to the results of the individual questionnaires and/or the preparation assignment.

The participants also look at the effective applicability of the subjects that were discussed. Can it be applied and is it useful?

Any agreements and agreed-upon methods from the training are discussed and their practical effectiveness is verified. Additional agreements are discussed and recorded on the spot.

evaluation report

Following this meeting, the trainer can create an evaluation report for the effectiveness of the training, if requested. This evaluation report is primarily for internal use by the Works Council, but can also be used by the Works Council to report to other parts of the company.
